I was blog hopping just now and reading the posts...and i realised what have become of our people. Emotional beings..that's what they are..or perhaps, even what WE are. I read Randy's, Anna's, and Samuel's. All of them were emo. And now looking at my own blog, I'm pretty sure i'm emo too. Anyway, the posts were all about JC life...which means a new life. I'm glad everyone's moving on smoothly. What I want to say is..well, in life there'll be times when all of us thought we could've done better, especially when it comes to results. It does not matter! The future does not depend on solely scraps of paper saying 'Certificates'. Those only matter for only 15% (experts say that). The rest of the 85% depends on skills like communication, cooperation, adapting skills, maturity, etc. Do we get exams for all those? No. So I think that's what we should be developing on too, and not brood over results, (especially o lvls...O stands for O-V-E-R.) So get on with it.
Ok...my apologies for what i've said. I sound kind of harsh don't I? Oh well...I just wanted to let it out. Actually, that's what I want to convey to you guys too. I know you guys are much happier people, and i'm not directly saying it with that lecturer tone to you guys only. That's what I want to say to all graduates of Secondary School. Now..time for my story.
Yesterday, we had a Chinese New Year Assembly (First one ever) in Bandung International School. Guess what? I was one of the emcees on that day. The stage was 2 pieces of red carpet (not stuck on to the floor which made it VERY slippery), and the background was made out of some Yellow and Pink cloths. Just to tell you, the stage looked VERY nice, but unfortunately hidden to everyone's eyes, it was flimsy as well. Oh yeah, we emcees actually got a microphone each but those weren't the usualy kind of microphone. Those were like the ones on the headphone, or the ones where you see the operators speak through the tiny stuff? Get the picture? So we felt like rock stars or singers on stage, having a massive concert. Yeah! Like the ones those singers use, except we don't have the ear plug thing to listen to instructions. So everything was professional, or rather, they looked professional. Then the show started, everything went fine until a guy named Rio (half jap half indo) performed martial arts and fell. That's Drama No.1. Good thing it was okay for him to fall cuz in the story, he was supposed to be defeated. Next, performers from outside the school came performing the Lion Dance. There were 2 guys who were standing on those long sticks and walking. You guys know right? But one of them, due to the slippery carpet, fell. No joke. It was really dangerous cuz he was standing on sticks and fell backward. That's Drama No.2. I think he was injured on the head or smth. Anyway, that was near the end of the show. So after that performance, emcees came out and started to say stuff like "don't try that at home...those were professionals" and we finished our special thanks. Then all of a sudden...HEY GUYS CONCENTRATE HERE, I'M TELLING YOU THE MOST DRAMATIC DRAMA EVER!...okay so what happened was, the children in the first rows started screaming and pointing behind us. We turned around and we were like "Oh my goodness..."but surprisingly, we didn't look surprised at all. The background thing was actually FALLING. It was blown by the wind, and it was falling, right on top of our heads. So we stepped forward to avoid it from crashing our brains. Then some peopel came and help to put it back in place, while we said "No don't panic! That was part of the show! Don't panic guys..just sit down okay? It's PART OF THE SHOW." That's the Super Drama No.3. Lol...seriously, i liked it when the background thign crumbles. It really added some spice. Hehehe... After the whole thing ended, one of my friends was like "You know everything looked wonderful and perfect. You guys looked really cool and professional. The stage looked especially nice. But sadly, it fell apart. Bit by bit..." And it was true, and i was laughing. Hahaha... Okay guys, thanks for listening to my story. I hope you enjoyed it. Haha... Got to have breakfast now. See ya! Take Care!!
